School Portraits by Adams Photography's Got Yearbooks division is looking for a Printing/Binder Operator with experience in volume print production, bindery operations. This role involves operating and maintaining high-end printing and finishing equipment to produce high-quality yearbooks and related materials. The ideal candidate has experience in print shops, bindery operations, and finishing processes and is eager to grow into a department leadership role.

This is an on site position, Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, workload and hours may fluctuate with seasonal demands. Peak season (March-June) may require mandatory overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain digital printing and finishing equipment, including:
    • Ricoh Digital Press Models (Pro C9210, 7200X, 7210)
    • Duplo DC-646 Cutter/Creaser
    • Horizon Perfect Binder BQ-500
    • Laminators, guillotine cutters, casing-in machines, and other finishing equipment
  • Ensure quality control throughout the printing and binding process
  • Troubleshoot machine errors, perform routine maintenance, and minimize downtime
  • Monitor print jobs for consistency, color accuracy, and adherence to job specifications
  • Handle materials for cutting, laminating, binding, and packaging finished yearbooks
  • Work with the production team to optimize workflows and improve efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following safety and operational guidelines
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members
  • Grow into a leadership role, with the potential to oversee bindery operations and staff

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in print shop and bindery operations
  • Hands-on experience with digital printing presses, cutters, binders, and finishing equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of paper types, print layouts, finishing techniques, and binding processes
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Team player with excellent communication and leadership potential
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading or supervising a bindery or print production team
  • Knowledge of color management and print calibration
  • Experience with workflow automation and finishing equipment software
